The primary objective of this project was to empower key members within local authorities to efficiently oversee their teams and effectively assign them to manage specific business support grants. The existing system required an administrator from each local authority to manually upload a spreadsheet of users and subsequently assign them to the relevant grants. This process was laborious and time intensive, prompting the need for a more streamlined and efficient solution.

Desktop only platform to enable admins of local authorities to create, maintain and assign users to government business support grants.
Interviewing diverse users within the same user group revealed varying needs, especially across different local authorities. While some feature requests were specific to certain authorities, they weren't crucial to achieving the project's primary goal but were considered as 'nice-to-haves.' Prioritising these requests required discernment to maintain focus on essential functionalities while considering additional features for future enhancements post MVP.
Ensuring alignment with the Government Design System and adhering to WCAG standards became a key priority during the design phase. This involved meticulous attention to detail to ensure that the developed solution not only met the functional requirements but also complied with established design guidelines and accessibility standards mandated by the government.
After interviewing a handful of users and gathering their requirements/understanding their as-is, I was able to sketch out the user flows and wireframes. From there, I created a high-fidelity prototype of the screens whereby these were then validated by the users that were interviewed.
